Jonas Eriksson (born 28 March 1974) is a Swedish formerfootballreferee. He was a full international referee forFIFA between 2002 and 2018.[1]

Career

Eriksson became a professionalreferee in 1994 and has been anAllsvenskan referee since 2000. He has refereed 263 matches in Allsvenskan, 47 matches inSuperettan and 112 international matches as of 2014.[1]

In August 2013, Eriksson was chosen to referee2013 UEFA Super Cup betweenChelsea andBayern Munich.[2] He was called by FIFA to officiate in Brazil's2014 FIFA World Cup. His first match in the World Cup was between theUnited States andGhana.[3] He was thefourth official at the2015 UEFA Champions League final match ofJuventus vs.Barcelona atOlympiastadion inBerlin, Germany on 6 June 2015.[4]

On 18 May 2016, he refereed theUEFA Europa League final betweenLiverpool andSevilla.[5]

On 30 May 2018, it was announced he would end his career as a referee.[6]

Business career

Jonas Eriksson was formerly sales director and partner in a company named IEC Sports. The company bought and sold TV rights. Eriksson and the other owners later sold the company, and Eriksson then became a multi-millionaire.[7]

Personal life

Eriksson resides inSigtuna, with his wife and two daughters.
