Jombang Regency (Indonesian:Kabupaten Jombang;Javanese:ꦏꦧꦸꦥꦠꦺꦤ꧀ꦗꦺꦴꦩ꧀ꦧꦁ) is aregency ofEast Java,Indonesia, situated to the southwest ofSurabaya. The capital of the regency is the town ofJombang. The regency has an area of 1,159.50 km2 and a population of 1,202,407 at the 2010 census[2] and 1,318,062 at the 2020 census;[3] the official estimate as of mid-2024 was 1,378,005 (comprising 694,052 males and 683,953 females).[1] It became a regency in 1910. It was the birthplace ofAbdurrahman Wahid, the 4thpresident of Indonesia.

The regency is divided administratively into twenty-onedistricts (kecamatan), tabulated below with their areas and population totals from the 2010 census[2] and the 2020 census,[3] together with the official estimates as of mid-2024.[1] The table also includes the locations of the district administrative centres, the number ofadministrative villages in each district (comprising 302 ruraldesa and 4 urbankelurahan - the latter all in Jombang (town) District), and its postal codes.

The five last-mentioned districts in the table constitute the folded limestone hilly region in the north, separated from the rest of the regency by theBrantas River. The rest of the regency to the south of the river is more low-lying and constitutes good agricultural land, although the south-east corner (Ngoro, Mojowarno, Bareng and Wonosalam Districts) is more mountainous.
