American art director (1902–1963)

John Meehan (June 13, 1902 – May 15, 1963) was an Americanart director andproduction designer.

He was born inTehachapi, California and attended theUniversity of Southern California. Meehan won threeAcademy Awards for hisart direction:William Wyler'sThe Heiress (1949),Billy Wilder'sSunset Boulevard (1950) andRichard Fleischer's 1954 adaptation of theJules Verne classic forWalt Disney,20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.[1] He also worked on
