John Wayne Kappler (born December 22, 1943, inBaltimore, Maryland) is a professor in the Department of Integrated Immunology atNational Jewish Health.^[2] His principal research is inT cell biology, a subject he collaborates on with his wifePhilippa Marrack.^[3] In 1983 they discovered theT cell receptor, together with Ellis Reinherz andJames Allison.
