John Burgmeier (born October 24, 1974) is an American voice actor andADR Script Writer who works forFUNimation Entertainment and specialises in English dubbed anime. As a voice actor, he is best known as the voice of Kurama fromYu Yu Hakusho,Tien from theDragon Ball series, Shigure Sohma fromFruits Basket, Eyes Rutherford fromSpiral, and Switzerland fromHetalia: Axis Powers. Burgmeier is also the son of voice actressLinda Young.[1] Burgmeier was the Head Writer at FUNimation for several years before retiring from the role in 2018.[2][3] During his tenure he worked as Head Writer for the English Dub version ofOne Piece and voiced several minor characters.[2][3]

Burgmeier is also a musician and member of the rock bandEl Gato.[4] He plays guitar, keyboard, and other instruments across the band's two albums and EP. While the members of El Gato are not currently active, they will still occasionally play a show.
