John Barrow Island is a member of theQueen Elizabeth Islands and theArctic Archipelago in the territory ofNunavut. It is an elongated island located midway in thePenny Strait betweenBathurst Island andDevon Island.
It is named in honour ofSir John Barrow, 1st Baronet, Permanent Secretary toBritish prime minister Lord (Charles Grey, 2nd Earl Grey).
