Johan Manzambi (born 14 October 2005) is a Swiss professionalfootballer who plays as amidfielder forBundesliga clubSC Freiburg and theSwitzerland national team.
Manzambi was born on 14 October 2005 inGeneva, Switzerland. He started playing football at the age of four.[1] His parents are from Angola and Democratic Republic of Congo.[2]
As a youth player, Manzambi joined theyouth academy of Swiss sideServette. In 2023, he joined the youth academy of GermanBundesliga sideSC Freiburg and was promoted to the club'sreserve team in 2024 before being promoted to the first team the same year. On 21 August 2024, he debuted for them during a 3–0 away loss to1. FC Heidenheim in theleague.[3]
On 10 June 2025, Manzambi scored his first goal forSwitzerland in a 4–0friendly win over theUnited States.
On 10 October 2025, Manzambi scored in stoppage time againstSweden in a 2–0FIFA World Cup qualifying victory.
Manzambi plays as amidfielder and is right-footed. Swiss newspaperBlick wrote in 2024 that he is a "fast box-to-box player who is dynamic and energetic".[4]
