Joel Daniel Andreas Eriksson[1] (born 28 June 1998) is aSwedish racing driver who currently competes inFormula E forEnvision Racing.
Eriksson began his karting career in 2007. He remained in karting until 2014.
In2014, Eriksson made his debut inopen-wheel racing in theADAC Formel Masters. In2015, he stayed in the series, now calledADAC Formula 4, and finished the season second in the standings.
In2016, Eriksson moved to theFIA Formula 3 European Championship withMotopark. He won one race atSpa-Francorchamps and was fifth in the championship standings. He continued with the team into the2017 season, where he was runner-up toCarlin'sLando Norris with seven wins.
Two seasons in theDeutsche Tourenwagen Masters driving forBMW Team RBM followed. Eriksson achieved his maiden DTM victory in 2018 atMisano in a rain-drenched night race, becoming the second-youngest DTM race winner in the process.[2][3] He racked up a further two podiums the following year.
Eriksson testedFormula E machinery for the first time in January 2018, driving forDS Virgin Racing in the2018 rookie test atMarrakesh.[4]

Eriksson was named byDragon Racing as its official test and reserve driver for the2019–20 season, taking part in the March 2020 rookie test at Marrakesh.[5] He retained the rolethe following year as the team rebranded as Dragon / Penske Autosport. He made his debut in the championship at the2021 Puebla ePrix, replacing regular driverNico Müller, who left the team due to several clashing commitments.[6] He finishedthe 2021 season with one point in eight races.

Eriksson made his first start since the2021 Berlin ePrix for Envision subbing in forRobin Frijns who had commitments in theWorld Endurance Championship in the2024 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps forBMW Team WRT at the2024 Berlin ePrix. Eriksson was joined that double-header by EstonianPaul Aron who subbed in forSébastien Buemi who was also at the 6 Hours of Spa forToyota GR Racing.[7]
Eriksson was promoted to a full-time race seat for the2025–26 season withEnvision Racing, replacingRobin Frijns and partneringSébastien Buemi.[8] At the season openingSão Paulo ePrix, Eriksson qualified eighteenth, but moved up the order late in the race to finish seventh and in the points.[9] Round three inMiami proved to be successful for the Swede, qualifying third in the Group B stage to make his maiden duel stage qualifying appearance in the championship.[10] However, he got knocked out in the quarter-finals byJaguar Racing'sAntónio Félix da Costa, and lined up sixth on the grid. Following the start, Eriksson moved up to fourth in the initial stages of the race, before being overtaken by Félix da Costa andPascal Wehrlein, and fell further down to seventh following an overtake fromMitch Evans.[11] A crash betweenFelipe Drugovich and Félix da Costa promoted Eriksson up to fifth place. In the final laps of the race, he overtookNyck de Vries for fourth, where Eriksson remained until the finish, securing his best finish in the championship to date.[12]
Eriksson is the younger brother of racing driverJimmy Eriksson, who raced in the 2016 GP2 season.[citation needed]
