James Shepherd (born 1940) is a former Australian professional tennis player.
In 1962, he was defeated byPremjit Lall in the second round at theAustralian Championships in men's singles. He also defeatedPeter McPherson in the first round by the third section[1] In the same year he reached the first withJimmy Tattersall and second round withRoger Taylor at the1962 Wimbledon Championships. In 1964 he reached the second round again with Gary Cruth at the Australian Open. In 1968 Shepherd made his last match withJohn Newcombe at the Pacific Coast Professionals before he retired.[2][3]
