James Breuer (born June 21, 1967)[1] is an American stand-up comedian, and actor.[2] He was a cast member onSaturday Night Live from 1995 to 1998 and starred in the filmHalf Baked (1998).
Breuer was a member of the cast ofSaturday Night Live from 1995 to 1998, playing characters such asJoe Pesci andGoat Boy.[3] He went on to hostThe Jim Breuer Show after leavingSNL.[4]
Breuer regularly tours as a comedian. Footage of his 2008 tour was used in his documentaryMore Than Me and in his four-hour DVD programThe Jim Breuer Road Journals. In September 2021, he cancelled shows at venues requiringCOVID-19 vaccination in New Jersey and Michigan and has stated that he will not perform at venues with such requirements.[5][6]
In 2023, Breuer appeared as a featured speaker on theReAwaken America Tour.[7] During one appearance, Breuer received backlash for mocking thecollapse of football playerDamar Hamlin; he suggested the collapse was caused by COVID-19 vaccines, echoingconspiracy theories in anti-vaccine circles.[8]
Breuer was born inValley Stream, New York,[1][9] and graduated in 1985 fromValley Stream Central High School.[10]
From 2005 to 2021, he lived inChester Township, New Jersey, with his wife Dee, whom he married in 1992,[1] and their three daughters.[11] In August 2021, Breuer and his family moved toNaples, Florida, after selling their home in New Jersey.[12]
He describes himself as a "superfan" of theNew York Mets.[13]
