Jill Lynette Cordes (born December 29, 1969, inPullman, Washington) writes theFearless Feisty Mama blog forParents Magazine. She began her television career as a reporter in Rapid City, South Dakota. She became a general assignment reporter forKSFY-TV inSioux Falls, South Dakota, then served as the morning anchor atKETV inOmaha, Nebraska, and eventually toMinneapolis,Minnesota as a reporter forWCCO-TV.[1] Cordes was one of the original four finalists to serve as co-host toBarbara Walters onThe View in 1999.[1] She was host of the award-winning showThe Best Of on theFood Network for six years, hostedHGTV programMy First Place and appeared in a slew of other shows and webisodes includingMy First Baby.
She is a graduate ofPenn State University, where she earned aBachelor of Arts injournalism in 1992. She also earned a minor in political science.[1]
Cordes lives with her husbandPhil Johnston inPark Slope, Brooklyn after having lived on theUpper West Side of Manhattan.[2]
