Jhon Eduard Murillo Romaña (born 21 November 1995) is a Venezuelan professionalfootballer who plays as awinger forLiga MX clubAtlas on loan fromAtlético San Luis. He represents theVenezuela national team.
Murillo was born in El Nula, Venezuela. After starting his career at Fundación Atlético San Camilo FC, he moved to Unión Atlético Alto Apure. In 2012, he played in theVenezuelan Tercera División.[1]
Murillo made hisVenezuelan Primera División debut on 22 October 2012 againstLlaneros de Guanare.[2] He scored his first league goal on 19 August 2013 againstDeportivo Petare.[3]
On 20 May 2015,Zamora FC confirmed Murillo's transfer to Portuguese championsBenfica on a five-year deal.[4][5][6]
On 16 July 2015, he joinedC.D. Tondela ofPrimeira Liga on a one-year loan.[7] On 30 June 2016, Primeira Liga sideC.D. Nacional announced that Murillo had signed a season-long loan deal with the club,[8] however, on 25 July, he continued on loan at Tondela for a further season.[9] Afterwards, he was loaned out toKasımpaşa in Turkey for one season.[10]
In January 2024, Murillo joinedAtlas on loan fromAtlético San Luis.[11]
In 2014, Murillo helped the under-21s finish second inthat year'sCentral American and Caribbean Games held in Mexico, scoring two goals – including the one in the semi-final againstHonduras.
Murillo represented theVenezuela under-20 team in the2015 South American Youth Football Championship in a first stage exit.[12]
On 11 February 2015, Murillo made his debut forVenezuela in an international friendly againstHonduras; he scored the winning goal in a 2–1 victory.[13] In 2016, he was named on the 40-man preliminary list for theCopa América Centenario but he was eventually excluded from the final squad.[14]
