Jhapandanga railway station is aKolkata Suburban Railway station on theHowrah–Bardhaman chord line operated byEastern Railway zone ofIndian Railways. It is situated at Panch Shimul, Jhapandanga inPurba Bardhaman district in the Indian state ofWest Bengal. This railway station serves in Abujhati Gram Panchayet and Jhapandanga village area.[1][2]
The Howrah–Bardhaman chord, the 95 kilometers railway line was constructed in 1917. It was connected withSealdah throughDankuni after construction ofVivekananda Setu in 1932.[3]Howrah toBardhaman chord line including Jhapandanga railway station was electrified in 1964–66.[4]
