Jesse Walker (born September 4, 1970), an American writer, is books editor ofReason magazine.[1] TheUniversity of Michigan alumnus has written the booksThe United States of Paranoia: A Conspiracy Theory (HarperCollins, 2013) andRebels on the Air: An Alternative History of Radio in America (NYU Press, 2001), and he maintains a blog calledThe Perpetual Three-Dot Column. His articles have appeared in a number of publications, includingThe New York Times,The Wall Street Journal,The Washington Post,The Atlantic,Salon,The New Republic,Politico,L.A. Times,L.A. Weekly,Chronicles,Boing Boing,No Depression, and theJournal of American Studies.
Walker's writings display a definitelibertarian bent, and he has cast a protest vote for theLibertarian Party's nominee in every presidential election of his adult lifetime except one, though "more often than not, I think they've put up a terrible candidate."[2]
Walker was critical of thewar on terror[3] and opposed thePatriot Act.[4] He has stated that it is a myth that the U.S. pursued an "isolationist" foreign policy betweenWorld War I andWorld War II.[5]
