Jeremy Ngola Monga (born 10 July 2009) is an Englishfootballer who plays as awinger forEFL Championship clubLeicester City.
Monga began his career withCoventry City, before joining theLeicester City Academy at age eight to play at the under-9 level.[1][2] He became the youngestPremier League 2 scorer on 1 November 2024 after scoring againstAston Villa.[3] After impressing for theunder-21s, he began training with thefirst-team.[4] However, managerRuud van Nistelrooy stated opportunities for Monga would be limited, considering his school commitments.[5] He was included in the match day squad for theirFA Cup fourth round match againstManchester United on 7 February 2025 at the age of 15 years and 212 days.[6]
He made his professional debut for Leicester on 7 April, aged 15 years and 271 days, coming on as a substitute forBilal El Khannouss in the 74th minute of a 0–3 defeat toNewcastle United in the Premier League.[7] In doing so, he became the second-youngest player, behindEthan Nwaneri, to play in the Premier League.[8][9] Monga had to play in a sponsorless shirt, to comply with UK laws on gambling advertising.[10] Van Nistelrooy praised Monga on his debut, saying, "He showed glimpses of his quality at such a young age."[11] He finished his debut season with seven Premier League appearances.[12]
Following relegation, Monga signed a new scholarship contract with Leicester in June 2025. He is expected to sign professional terms with the club when he reaches age 17 in 2026.[13] On 13 August 2025, Monga became the youngest player to start a match for Leicester City, starting and playing 60 minutes againstHuddersfield Town in a 2–2 draw in the first round of theCarabao Cup.[14] Three days later, Monga scored his first goal for the club in a 2–1 loss away toPreston North End, becoming the youngest goalscorer inChampionship history at 16 years and 37 days old.[15]
Born in England, Monga is of Congolese descent.[16] He has representedEngland at the U15 andU16 level, captaining the latter.[17][18]
Monga made his U19 debut during a 2-0 win overUkraine atPinatar Arena on 3 September 2025.[19]
Monga currently attendsRatcliffe College.[20]
