Jeletzkya douglassae is a fossilbelemnoid from the earlyPennsylvanianMazon Creeklagerstätten and represents the earliest knowncrown-groupsquid.[1] Non-mineralized anatomy is preserved and comprises ten hookedtentacles and aradula. It is too poorly understood for assignment to any particular cephalopod taxon.[2]J. douglassae is 14 mm long.
