Jeff Avery (born March 28, 1953) is a Canadian former professionalfootballwide receiver for theOttawa Rough Riders of theCanadian Football League.
Avery playedCIAU football for theOttawa Gee-Gees, where he won the1975 Vanier Cup.[2] He was drafted as a territorial exemption in the1976 CFL draft by the Rough Riders and would win theGrey Cup with the team thatsame year. Avery played seven seasons for the Rough Riders, being named a CFL East All-Star in 1977 and 1978.[3]
Avery was an announcer for the Rough Riders andOttawa Renegades and is the current radio analyst for theOttawa Redblacks.[4][5][6] He was inducted into theCanadian Football Hall of Fame in 2017 as a reporter.[7]
