Jayson Gonzales (born 2 May 1969 inQuezon City) is aFilipinochessgrandmaster (2008).
He played for the Philippines in theChess Olympiads of 2004 and 2008.[1] In 1998, he won the Southern California Open.[2] In 2001, he tied for 4–5th with Alan Sayson in thePhilippine Chess Championship.[3] In 2004, tied for 3rd–4th withSergei Tiviakov in theCalvia Open[4] and came third behindJaan Ehlvest andJohn Fedorowicz in the 88th Marshall Chess Club Championship in New York.[5] In 2008, he tied for 2nd–3rd withAshot Nadanian in the 1st Leg ASEAN Circuit Chess Tournament in Tarakan[6] and came second in the 1st Subic International Open Tournament.[7]
On the May 2012FIDE list, he has anElo rating of 2405. His handle on theInternet Chess Club is "veracity".[8]
