Jaunpuri (जौनपुरी) is aNorthern Indo-Aryan dialect spoken in parts of theGarhwal division in the state ofUttarakhand, India. Its speakers are found in theJaunpur development block in the east ofTehri Garhwal district and eastern parts ofDehradun district, which includesMussoorie and nearby areas. Although a separate identity for Jaunpuri has been claimed,[1] it is considered to be a transitional dialect betweenGarhwali andJaunsari.[2][3][4]
