Jaugram railway station is aKolkata Suburban Railway station on theHowrah–Bardhaman chord line operated byEastern Railway zone ofIndian Railways. It is situated beside Jaugram Main Road, Astai inPurba Bardhaman district in the Indian state ofWest Bengal.[1] Number ofEMU trains stop at Jaugram railway station.[2]

History

The Howrah–Bardhaman chord, the 95 kilometers railway line was constructed in 1917. It was connected withSealdah throughDankuni after construction ofVivekananda Setu in 1932.[3]Howrah toBardhaman chord line including Jaugram railway station was electrified in 1964–66.[4]
