Jaroslav Bžoch (born 30 November 1983) is a Czech politician ofANO and formerrugby league player. He was electedmember of the European Parliament in2024.[1] He previously served in theChamber of Deputies, serving as vice-chair of theforeign affairs committee [cs].[2]
Bžoch graduated from theMetropolitan University Prague with a degree ininternational relations andEuropean studies, and earned a bachelor's degree inbusiness economics andmanagement atJan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem.[3]
Bžoch was elected municipal councillor ofTeplice in the2014 municipal elections.[4] He was elected regional councillor ofÚstí nad Labem Region in2016,[5] and to the Chamber of Deputies in2017.[6][7]
Bžoch was elected in2021 with 3,613 preferential votes.[8] He was elected the party assembly in February 2022, he was elected a member of the movement's board.[9]
Bžoch ran for the second candidate of ANO in the2024 European Parliament election.[10] The party won the election and he became one of the six MEPs with 31,989 preferential votes.[11] Bžoch resigned as a member of the Chamber of Deputies at the end of June and was replaced byKamila Bláhová [cs].[12]
