Jarez (Arabic:جارز,romanized: Jārīz, also spelledJarz;Turkish:Carıs) is a village in northernSyria, administratively part of theA'zaz District ofAleppo Governorate, located north ofAleppo. Nearby localities includeA'zaz to the west,Kaljibrin to the southwest andMare' to the southeast. According to theSyria Central Bureau of Statistics, Jarez had a population of 945 in the 2004 census.[1] German travelerMartin Hartmann listed the village as Turkish in late 19th century.[2] The village is inhabited byTurkmen.[3]
