Jamie William Lindsay (born 11 October 1995) is a Scottish professionalfootballer who plays as amidfielder forScottish Championship clubRoss County. Lindsay has previously played forCeltic,Dumbarton,Greenock Morton, Ross County,Rotherham United andBristol Rovers, and has represented Scotland in youth internationals.

Club career

Raised inLarkhall,[2] Lindsay started his career withCeltic. He played regularly for their development sides including scoring againstA.C. Milan in theUEFA Youth League.[2]

He joinedScottish Championship sideDumbarton on loan in July 2015.[3] Making his senior debut for the club in a 3–2 victory overMorton on 26 July 2015.[4] He extended his loan deal for the rest of the season in January after winning the club's November/December player of the month award.[5] He won the club's Young Player of the Year award before returning toCeltic.[6]

Lindsay joinedMorton on loan in July 2016 for the season.[7] He scored his first senior goal on his debut againstBerwick Rangers[8]

On 3 July 2017, Lindsay joinedRoss County on loan until the end of the season.[9][10] He scored his first career professional league goal during this time, in a 2–1 away win atDundee. He signed a permanent deal with theStaggies in June 2018.[11]

Rotherham United

On 24 July 2019, Lindsay joinedEFL League One sideRotherham United for an undisclosed fee, signing a three-year contract with the club.[12]

In May 2024, Rotherham confirmed that Lindsay would be departing the club upon the expiration of his contract.[13] Despite having been offered a new contract, new managerSteve Evans confirmed that personal terms could not be agreed.[14]

Bristol Rovers

On 12 July 2024, Lindsay signed for League One clubBristol Rovers on a three-year deal with the option for a further season.[15] The move saw him reunite with former Rotherham managerMatt Taylor. On 1 October 2024, he scored his first goal for the club with the second in a 3–2 victory overCharlton Athletic.[16] Following the replacement ofMatt Taylor withIñigo Calderón as head coach in December 2024, Lindsay struggled for game time, failing to appear from 22 February until an appearance from the bench on the final day of the season.[17][18] On 8 June 2025, he departed the club having had his contract terminated by mutual consent.[19]

Return to Ross County

On 18 July 2025, Lindsay returned to Scottish Championship side Ross County on a two-year deal.[20]
