James Clark Fulton McCrae (also speltMcRae,McRea,McCray andMcCabe; 2 September 1894 – 3 September 1974) was a Scottishfootball player and manager. His brother was Scottish international playerDavid McCrae.

Playing career

Born inBridge of Weir, McCrae signed professional forms withClyde in 1912,[1] but hisplaying career was interrupted by theFirst World War. During the War, McCrae joined theGrenadier Guards, playing for their football team, as well as guesting for Clyde,Rangers,[2] andWest Ham United. McCrae joined West Ham United permanently in June 1919, playing in their first everLeague game.[3] McCrae also played forBury,Wigan Borough,New Brighton,Manchester United[4] andWatford. He made a total of 187 appearances inthe Football League. McCrae later played in Scotland forThird Lanark and his first club, Clyde, before retiring in 1928.

Coaching career

McCrae coachedEgypt at the1934 FIFA World Cup, and also managedİstanbulspor in Turkey andFram of Iceland.
