James Christopher Carson (born 29 April 1994) is a Welsh internationalfield hockey player who plays as a forward for Wales. He competed for Wales at twoCommonwealth Games.
Carson plays club hockey in theMen's England Hockey League Premier Division forOld Georgians, along with his twoolder brothers.[1] He was selected to represent Wales at the2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast.[2]
At the end of the 2018 season, he leftReading for theUniversity of Exeter Hockey Club.[3]
Carson joinedOld Georgians in 2020 and was part of theOld Georgians team that won two league and cup doubles during the2021-22 season and2022-23 seasons and the league title during the2023-24 season.[4]
He was selected to representWales at the2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham[5] and the2023 Hockey World Cup.[6] He became the first player to score a goal for Wales at aHockey World Cup, during the team's 5-1 loss toSpain on 15 January 2023.[7]
