Jairo de Macedo da Silva (born 6 May 1992), or simplyJairo, is a Brazilian professionalfootballer who plays as aforward forMalaysia Super League clubJohor Darul Ta'zim.
Jairo started off career in the Brazilian clubBotafogo. He came toAS Trenčín in winter 2014, and he signed one-year contract.[2] Jairo came to Trenčín from BrazilianMadureira. The club started to scout him during Copa Amsterdam, where he was playing forBotafogo. In the beginning of 2015, he signed a three-year contract withTrenčín.[3] In the 2nd qualifying round of theUEFA Champions League againstSteaua Bucharest, he assisted with all three goals in a 3–2 away win.[4]
On 8 August 2015,PAOK announced the signing of Jairo fromAS Trenčín for a reported fee of €400,000.[5] Jairo put pen to paper on a four-year contract.[6] On 3 December 2015, in a 6–2 away win againstChania forGreek Cup he scored his first goal with the club. On 10 January 2016, he scored his first league goal with the club in a 3–1 home win game againstPAS Giannina.
On 30 August 2016, he signed withPAS Giannina on a year-long loan fromPAOK.[7] On 8 August 2017, he was loaned toSheriff Tiraspol, signing an 1-year contract.[8] On 23 September 2017, his hat-trick in a 6–3 home win againstDacia helped his club to keep the 1st place in theleague.[9]
Jairo joined Croatian sideHajduk Split for the2018–19 Croatian First Football League season, collecting 13 goals and 10 assists in all competitions.[10] At the end of the season, he was named in the league Team of the Season.[11] On 12 June 2019, Jairo extended his contract for a further three years.[12]
On 15 June 2025, Jairo was announced as the newest signing for theMalaysia Super League clubJohor Darul Ta'zim.[13] In the opening match of the 2025–26 season on 8 August 2025, he scored the opening goal in the 1st minute of the match on his debut for the club.
