Jafarabad Rural District (Persian:دهستان جعفرآباد) is in theCentral District^[a] ofJafarabad County,Qom province,Iran. Its capital is the village ofJafarabad.^[3] The previous capital of the rural district was the village ofGazeran,^[4] now the city ofJafariyeh.^[5]

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the rural district's population (as a part ofJafarabad District^[b] inQom County) was 8,699 in 1,995 households.^[6] There were 9,716 inhabitants in 2,594 households at the following census of 2011.^[7] The 2016 census measured the population of the rural district as 9,676 in 2,760 households. The most populous of its 55 villages wasBaqerabad, with 1,739 people.^[2]

After the census, the district was separated from the county in the establishment of Jafarabad County and renamed the Central District.^[3]
