At the time of the 2006 National Census, the rural district's population (as a part ofJafarabad District[b] inQom County) was 8,699 in 1,995 households.[6] There were 9,716 inhabitants in 2,594 households at the following census of 2011.[7] The 2016 census measured the population of the rural district as 9,676 in 2,760 households. The most populous of its 55 villages wasBaqerabad, with 1,739 people.[2]
After the census, the district was separated from the county in the establishment of Jafarabad County and renamed the Central District.[3]
