Jadavpur Assembly constituency is aLegislative Assembly constituency in theIndianstate ofWest Bengal which lies mostly inKolkata district, while a fraction of it is inSouth 24 Parganas district (Kolkata Municipal Corporation Area).

The constituency is considered to be a bastion ofCommunist Party of India (Marxist), but the party lost it in2021 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election. As the electoral constituency of formerChief ministerBuddhadeb Bhattacharjee, it is one of the most prestigious seat in the state.

Dinesh Chandra Majumder of CPI(M) won in 1972[16] and 1971.[17] Bikash Chandra Guha of CPI(M) won in 1969[18] and 1967.[19] The Jadavpur seat did not exist prior to that.
