Pageant career

She participated inTop Model of the World 1995, held inMoscow,Russia, where she becameVenezuela's first titleholder in history.[1]

Aguilera competed in 1995 as MissNueva Esparta in her country'snational beauty pageant, obtaining the title ofMiss World Venezuela and the right to represent hercountry inMiss World 1995.

At the Miss World Pageant on 18 November 1995 inSun City,South Africa, she won the crown as the 45thMiss World, as well as thePhotogenic award. FormerMiss World 1994Aishwarya Rai handed over her crown to Aguilera after her reign as the Miss World for a year.[2]

Presently, she operates amodeling agency in Venezuela and lives inMargarita Island, Venezuela.
