Jacob Bracewell Collier (born 20 May 1997) is a BritishLabour Party politician who has beenMember of Parliament forBurton and Uttoxeter since 2024.[1]

Early life

Jacob Collier was born inBurton upon Trent in 1997 and grew up inStretton.[2] He attended William Shrewsbury Primary School andThe de Ferrers Academy.[3][4] He read History and Politics at theUniversity of Nottingham.[4] Collier was elected as Community Officer for the University of Nottingham Students' Union.[5] He became chair of Nottingham Labour Students before graduating in 2018.[6]

Collier worked in communications for Thera, a charity working with people with learning disabilities and from 2021 was a communications officer at theNottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service, where he was also a union representative forUnison.[7][4][6][8]

Political career

Collier was elected as MP forBurton and Uttoxeter at thegeneral election in July 2024 with a 2,266 majority, gaining the seat from the Conservatives.
