Jacksonville station is anAmtrak train station in theNorthside neighborhood ofJacksonville, Florida, United States. It is served by theFloridian andSilver Meteor trains as well asAmtrak Thruway buses.

Amtrak opened the station on January 4, 1974, replacing Jacksonville Union Terminal (nowPrime F. Osborn III Convention Center) downtown.[2] The station saw eight trains daily upon opening, four in each direction. Those trains were theSilver Meteor,Silver Star,Champion, andFloridian, but also very briefly saw theVacationer.[3] TheFloridian andChampion were discontinued in the 1979 budget cuts.
In 1993, theSunset Limited was extended east from itsNew Orleansterminus all the way toMiami, and added a stop at Jacksonville.[4] Then in 1996, the station's services were further expanded to include the newly reinstatedSilver Palm running from New York to Tampa.[5]
On November 1, 2004, however, theSilver Palm, now renamed toPalmetto, had its terminus cut back toSavannah, Georgia. Later, in 2005, theSunset Limited was suspended east of New Orleans in the wake ofHurricane Katrina. This left the station with just two trains in each direction a day: theSilver Meteor andSilver Star. On November 10, 2024, theSilver Star was merged with theCapitol Limited as theFloridian.[6]
