Jacqueline Faith Kucinich (born November 10, 1981) is anAmerican reporter. She is the Washington bureau chief forThe Boston Globe. Previously, she was the Washington bureau chief forThe Daily Beast.[1] Since the2016 presidential election, she has been aCNN commentator.[2] She is the daughter ofDennis Kucinich, formermayor of Cleveland, Democratic congressman and two-time presidential candidate. She is also the niece of Gary Kucinich, formerCleveland City Councilman.

Early life and education

Kucinich was born inColumbus, Ohio, toDennis Kucinich and Sandra Lee McCarthy. Her father was formerly the mayor ofCleveland andDemocratic congressman fromOhio's 10th congressional district. Her father is ofCroat andIrish ancestry.[3] Her mother was an English and broadcast journalism teacher. Her parents divorced in 1986.[4] Her godmother isOscar-winning actressShirley MacLaine.[5]

Kucinich graduated fromAmerican University in Washington, D.C.[6]

Career

Beginning in 2005, Kucinich became a reporter covering Congress for political newspaperThe Hill.[7] Shortly thereafter, Kucinich was hired as a reporter forRoll Call, starting in 2008.[8]

In 2011, Kucinich joinedUSA Today covering politics, and the2012 presidential elections. She has been a frequent guest commentator on CNN and MSNBC and has appeared on Fox News and C-SPAN.[9]

In April 2013, she landed atThe Washington Post, covering politics.[10] She served as co-anchor on the company's new Web channel.

In early 2015, Kucinich joinedThe Daily Beast.[11]

Personal life

In October 2011, Kucinich married Jared Louis Allen, who works inpublic relations, in Washington, D.C.[6]
