John William Merchant (May 3, 1899 – March 31, 1972) was an Americanathlete.[1] He competed in themen's long jump at the1920 Summer Olympics and themen's hammer throw at the1924 Summer Olympics.[2]
Competing for theCalifornia Golden Bears track and field team, Merchant won the shot put and hammer throw at the1922 NCAA Track and Field Championships.[3]
