Jackson S. Horsley (born September 25, 1951) is an American former competitionswimmer and Olympic medalist. He represented the United States as a 17-year-old at the1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City, where he won a bronze medal in the200-meter backstroke, finishing behind East GermanRoland Matthes and fellow AmericanMitch Ivey.[2]
Horsley was born inSalt Lake City, Utah, and attended high school inSeattle, Washington. He enrolled inIndiana University, where he swam for coachDoc Counsilman'sIndiana Hoosiers swimming and diving team inNational Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) andBig Ten Conference competition.
He graduated from Indiana University with a bachelor's degree, and earned his medical degree from theUniversity of Cincinnati Medical School. He completed his residency in Stockton, California, and has lived inEllensburg, Washington since 1979. Horsley is currently the medical director ofCentral Washington University's student health center.[3]
Horsley is a member ofthe Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.[4]
