John Challinor (5 August 1916 – 1981) was an Englishfootballer who played inthe Football League forStoke City.[1]

Career

Challinor was born inMiddlewich and played forWitton Albion before joiningStoke City in 1937.[1] He became a regular in the1937–38 season due to injury toCharlie Scrimshaw, playing in 34 matches.[1] He managed to make a modest 12 in thefollowing campaign and left for Irish clubLinfield.[1] He did well with theBelfast club, and later managed the club for a few years.[1]
