Jabez Upham (August 23, 1764 – November 8, 1811) was aU.S. representative fromMassachusetts, brother ofGeorge Baxter Upham, and cousin ofCharles Wentworth Upham, both were also U.S. representatives.
Born inBrookfield in theProvince of Massachusetts Bay, Upham graduated fromHarvard University in 1785. He studied law, wasadmitted to the bar and commenced practice inSturbridge, Massachusetts.
He moved toClaremont, New Hampshire, and then toBrookfield, Massachusetts, where he continued the practice of law. He served as member of theMassachusetts House of Representatives from 1804 to 1806 and in 1811.
Upham was elected as aFederalist to theTenth andEleventh Congresses, and served from March 4, 1807, until his resignation in 1810.
He died inBrookfield, Massachusetts, November 8, 1811. He was interred in New Cemetery,West Brookfield, Massachusetts.
Jabez Upham was the grandfather ofHorace Gray, aSupreme Court judge.
