John Paul Richardson (born March 23, 2002) is an American professionalfootballwide receiver for theChicago Bears of theNational Football League (NFL). He playedcollege football for theOklahoma State Cowboys and theTCU Horned Frogs.

College career

Richardson playedcollege football for theOklahoma State Cowboys from 2021 to 2022 and theTCU Horned Frogs from 2023 to 2024.[1] He played in 48 games recording 175 receptions for 1,940 yards and 11 touchdowns.[2][3] Richardson also featured as the Horned Frogs punt returner in 2024, returning 23 punts for 252 yards and one touchdown againstKansas.[4][5]

After not being selected in the2025 NFL draft, Richardson signed with theChicago Bears as anundrafted free agent.[8] He was cut on August 26, 2025, before signing to the practice squad the next day.[9][10] On January 20, 2026, he signed a reserve/futures contract.[11]

Personal life

Richardson comes from a football family – his grandfather, Rex, and his father,Bucky, both played in theNFL, and his uncle, Jeff Turner, played atTexas Tech.[2]
