Justin Leroy Johnson (April 8, 1888 – March 26, 1961) was an American lawyer, World War I veteran, and politician who served seven consecutive terms as aRepublicanUnited States Congressman fromCalifornia from 1943 to 1957.
Born inWausau, Wisconsin, in 1888, Johnson graduated from the local high school and from theUniversity of Wisconsin–Madison, later serving inWorld War I. After graduating from theUniversity of California, Berkeley law school, he practiced law and served as city attorney inStockton, California.[1][2]
In 1942, he successfully ran for a seat in theU.S. House of Representatives, where he would serve seven consecutive terms from 1943 to 1957. In 1956, he was defeated for re-election byJohn J. McFall.
He died in Stockton in 1961 and his ashes were interred in Casa Bonita Mausoleum, outside the Stockton Rural Cemetery.
