Chantelle Izuka Hoyle (born 18 January 1996) is a Scottish actress.[1] She began her career in theatre. Hoyle won aScottish BAFTA for her performance in the filmBoiling Point (2021). On television, she is known for her roles in theChannel 4 sitcomBig Boys (2022–2025) and theBBC adaptation ofBoiling Point (2023).
Hoyle was born inEdinburgh and spent her early childhood inDundee.[2] Her sister Kimberly also acts and sings. Their father grew up in Edinburgh and has family from England; their Nigerian-born mother arrived in the UK when she was a teenager.[3] She attended Cramond Primary School and then theRoyal High School. Hoyle left mainstream education at 16[4] before moving to London; while in London, she was awarded a scholarship to train atArtsEd, graduating in 2017.[5]
Hoyle originated the role ofCatherine Parr in the 2017 production ofSix: the Musical. The following year, she made her film debut asMary Seton in the historical dramaMary Queen of Scots and her television debut in the second series ofClique. She also appeared in theatrical productions ofThe Selfish Giant[6] andSylvia.[7] She then starred as Darrell Rivers on the UK tour of the musical adaptation ofMalory Towers.
Hoyle joined the cast ofthe CW seriesThe Outpost for its third and fourth seasons as Wren and had a small role as Dana in theAmazon Prime adaptation ofThe Wheel of Time. She has appeared in the filmsVillain (2020),Boiling Point (2021) (for which earned her aScottish BAFTA), andPersuasion (2022).
In 2023, Hoyle reprised her role as Camille in theBBC television adaptation ofBoiling Point.
As of 2025, Hoyle stars as Corinne in theChannel 4 sitcomBig Boys, and has an upcoming lead role in the upcomingSky seriesPrisoner.[8]
