Izikoziphius is an extinct genus ofbeaked whale.[1][4] It contains two species:Izikoziphius rossi, andIzikoziphius angustus.
The species is named after theIziko South African Museum. Itsgrammatical gender (inLatin) is masculine.[4]
Izikoziphius is different from the other genus in the subfamilyZiphiinae in that it has a longerrostrum, and lacks a prenarial basin.[4]
Fossils of this species were found off the coast ofSouth Africa.[4]
