Iván López Álvarez (born 29 June 1994), commonly known asIvi, is a Spanish professionalfootballer who plays as aforward for Polish clubRaków Częstochowa.
Born inMadrid, Ivi finished his youth career with localGetafe CF. On 24 February 2013, still a junior, he made his senior debut, coming on as a latesubstitute forthe reserves in a 2–0 home win againstZamora CF in theSegunda División B.[1]
Ivi started the2013–14 season still with the B-team and in the third division, notably scoring twice in a 3–0 away victory overReal Unión.[2] On 27 March 2014, he made his main squad andLa Liga debut, replacingPablo Sarabia for the final 20 minutes of an eventual 0–1 home loss toVillarreal CF.[3]
On 16 June 2015, Ivi signed a three-year deal with anotherreserve team,Sevilla Atlético also in the third tier.[4] On 8 October of the following year he scored his first professional goals, netting a brace in a 2–1 home defeat ofReal Zaragoza.[5]
On 7 August 2017, Ivi agreed to a four-year contract with top-flight clubLevante UD for a reported fee of€1.5 million.[6] He scored his first goal for them on 26 August, through apenalty kick in a 2–2 home draw againstDeportivo de La Coruña,[7] and repeated the feat on 9 September to help to a 1–1 draw at title holdersReal Madrid.[8]
Ivi was loaned toReal Valladolid in the same league on 27 July 2018, for one year.[9] The following 31 January, he signed withSporting de Gijón of division two also in a temporary deal.[10]
On 13 August 2019, Ivi joinedSD Huesca on loan for thesecond-tier season.[11] He left the following 16 January,[12] and moved toSD Ponferradina hours later also on loan.[13]
Ivi terminated his contract with Levante on 28 August 2020,[14] and joined Polish sideRaków Częstochowa four days later.[15] He helped them towin thePolish Cup in hisfirst season, equalising the 2–1 final victory overArka Gdynia.[16][17]
On 17 July 2021, Ivi converted his attempt in Raków'spenalty shootout victory against reigningEkstraklasa championsLegia Warsaw in thePolish Super Cup.[18] The following 2 May, he scored in thefinal of the domestic cup to help defeatLech Poznań 3–1 and secure a second consecutive conquest of the tournament.[19]
Ivi missed the vast majority of the2023–24 campaign, after suffering ananterior cruciate ligament injury in a preseasonfriendly againstMKS Puszcza Niepołomice on 27 June 2023.[20]
