TheIvanpah Valley is in southeasternCalifornia and southernNevada in theUnited States. The valley is between theNew York Mountains and theIvanpah Mountains inSan Bernardino County on the California side, and inClark County on the Nevada side.[1] The communities ofCima, California;Nipton, California;Jean, Nevada; andPrimm, Nevada are in the valley.[2] TheIvanpah Dry Lake, a popular place forland sailing, and the site of the proposedSouthern Nevada Supplemental Airport also lie in the valley.
The headwaters of the valley[clarification needed] lie in the south and southeast in the north of theMojave National Preserve; the southeast of the valley is awater divide point at the south of theMcCullough Range, with four valleys,[specify] and four mountain ranges. (ThePiute Valley drains southeast into theColorado River; theEldorado Valley northeast isendorheic.)
