Ismat Gayibov Stadium, also referred asBakikhanov Stadium, is a multi-usestadium in theBakikhanov settlement ofBaku,Azerbaijan. It is named in honor ofIsmat Gayibov (1942–1991). It is used mostly forfootball matches. In February 2011, the president ofNeftchi Baku football club Sadyg Sadygov announced that in domestic competitions Neftchi will host the rivals in Ismat Gayibov Stadium beginning in the 2011–2012 season.[1] The stadium is named forIsmat Gayibov,[2] who was thePublic Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan when he died in the1991 Azerbaijani Mil Mi-8 shootdown.[3]
