TheIsaac Stern House was amansion at 858Fifth Avenue on theUpper East Side ofManhattan inNew York City.[1]
The home was designed by the firm ofSchickel & Ditmars, and it was constructed for the entrepreneur Isaac Stern (d. 1910). He was one of the founders of theStern Brothers department store and was the father ofRobert B. Stearns, who became a prominent financier and co-foundedBear Stearns in 1923. The mansion was later owned by businessmanThomas Fortune Ryan.[1] The house was demolished in 1949 to make way for an apartment building.
