Ira S. Nash is an Americancardiologist.[1]

Career

Nash is the senior vice president for physician leadership development atNorthwell Health, and the associate dean for physician leadership development at theZucker School of Medicine.[2]

Previously, Nash served as the Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President for Medical Affairs at theMount Sinai Medical Center and Associate Professor of both Medicine and Health Evidence and Policy at theMount Sinai School of Medicine.[3]

Nash serves and has served on various editorial boards including Cardiovascular Review and Reports, theAmerican Journal of Medical Quality,[4] theAmerican Journal of Medicine and theMount Sinai Journal of Medicine. He has published more than 30 articles, 13 books, book chapters, and is an associate editor ofHurst's The Heart, a leading textbook.[5] From 1998-2000 he was the host ofWCBS-TV's “2 Your Health”. He is the host of theWell Said podcast.[6]

Nash is a member of the Clinical Council of theAmerican Heart Association (AHA) and serves on theAmerican College of Cardiology (ACC)/AHA Joint Task Force on Clinical Competence,[7] which sets standards for training and expertise in cardiovascular medicine.

Nash was named in Castle Connolly's list of “Best Doctors” in 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2011[8] and in theNew York Times list of "Super Doctors" in 2008, 2009 and 2010.[9]

Nash received his A.B., summa cum laude, in Engineering and Applied Science in 1980 fromHarvard University and his M.D., cum laude, in 1984 fromHarvard Medical School.[10] His internship (1984–1985) and his residency (1985–1987) in medicine were both atThe Beth Israel Hospital inBoston,Massachusetts. From 1987-1989 he was a clinical fellow in Medicine (Cardiology) at Harvard Medical School andBeth Israel Hospital.

Nash served on the full-time academic staff of the Cardiac Unit of theMassachusetts General Hospital and on the faculty of Harvard Medical School until 1995, when he joined the Mount Sinai Medical Center.[11]

Nash is a Fellow of theAmerican College of Cardiology, theAmerican Heart Association and theAmerican College of Physicians.[2]

As of 2011, Nash was Commander in the Medical Corps of theUnited States Navy Reserve.[12]

As of 2020, he was the Executive Director of Northwell Health Physician Partners.[13]
