Iododermas are caused byiodides, with the most common sources of exposure being oral and intravenous contrast materials used to treatthyroid disease.[1]: 135  The most common type of eruption is anacneiform eruption with numerous acutely inflamed follicularpustules, each surrounded by a ring ofhyperemia.[1]: 135
