Into The Fight 2023 was aprofessional wrestling event promoted byDDT Pro-Wrestling (DDT). It took place on February 26, 2023, inTokyo, Japan, atKorakuen Hall.[3] The event aired live on Fighting TV Samurai and on DDT's streaming serviceWrestle Universe.

Nine matches were contested at the event, including two on the pre-show, and two of DDT's ninechampionships were on the line. The main event sawYukio Naya defeatHarashima to become the number one contender to theKO-D Openweight Championship. Other prominent matches includedShinya Aoki,Yuki Ueno andSuper Sasadango Machine defeatBurning (Tetsuya Endo,Kotaro Suzuki andYusuke Okada) to win theKO-D 6-Man Tag Team Championship, and Takeshi Masada defeated Yuya Koroku to win the inauguralD Generations Cup.

Background

Into The Fight is an event held each year since 2005 (except in 2006 and 2022) atKorakuen Hall (except the 2015 edition which was held atShinjuku Face). The 2023 edition was the seventeenth event under that name.

Storylines

The show featured nineprofessional wrestling matches that resulted from scriptedstorylines, where wrestlers portrayedvillains,heroes, orless distinguishable characters in the scripted events that built tension and culminated in a wrestling match or series of matches.[4]

The first seven matches of the show were broadcast on DDT'sYouTube channel. In the first one,Damnation T.A (MJ Paul and Kanon) picked up a win overMasahiro Takanashi andAntonio Honda bysubmission. Next, the bout between Pheromones (Yuki "Sexy" Iino andDanshoku "Dandy" Dino) andToru Owashi,Gota Ihashi,Saki Akai,Kazuki Hirata, and Bonnō Dai Shachō (Sanshiro Takagi andFuminori Abe) ended in ano contest after referee stoppage. Next up,Keigo Nakamura,Toui Kojima and Kazuma Sumi defeatedHideki Okatani, Yuki Ishida and Illusion bypinfall in six-man tag team action. The fourth bout sawKazusada Higuchi andShishamo Power outmatchingJun Akiyama andUnagi Mask in tag team action. In the fifth match,Kip Sabian,Chris Brookes andHagane Shinno defeated Omega (Yuji Hino andMakoto Oishi) andDDT Universal ChampionNaruki Doi. After the match, Sabian pinnedPenelope Ford who accompanied his team at ringside to strip her off theIronman Heavymetalweight Championship. Next up, Takeshi Masada defeated Yuya Koroku to become the first-everD Generations Cup Champion. The seventh bout sawShinya Aoki,Yuki Ueno andSuper Sasadango Machine defeatingBurning (Tetsuya Endo,Kotaro Suzuki andYusuke Okada) to win theKO-D 6-Man Tag Team Championship.[5] After the match,Kip Sabian dropped theIronman Heavymetalweight Championship to Yoshihiko. In the semi main event,ShunMao (Mao andShunma Katsumata) defeatedYukio Sakaguchi and Hikaru Machida to secure their third consecutive defense over theKO-D Tag Team Championship.

In the main event,Yukio Naya defeatedHarashima to become the number one contender to theKO-D Openweight Championship.[6][7]
