Anatomical terminology

A lower transverse plane midway between the upper transverse and the upper border of thepubic symphysis; this is termed theintertubercular plane (ortranstubercular), since it practically corresponds to that passing through theiliac tubercles; behind, its plane cuts the body of the fifthlumbar vertebra.
