The International Cup of Nice was launched in 1995 by the Nice Baie des Anges Association to promote figure skating and ice dance.[3]
In 2024, the Trophée Métropole Nice Côte d'Azur was the seventh event of theISU Challenger Series,[4] a series of international figure skating competitions sanctioned by theInternational Skating Union (ISU). The objective is to ensure consistent organization and structure within a series of international competitions linked together, providing opportunities for senior-level skaters to compete at the international level and also earnISU World Standing points.[5]
The senior pairs free skate at the 2024 Trophée Métropole Nice Côte d'Azur was cancelled on account of inclement weather. It was later announced that the short program results would be considered the final results for the competition.[27]
