Infor is amultinational company headquartered inNew York City[7] that provides industry specific,enterprise software licensed for useon premises oras a service.[8][9][10]

As of 2016[update], Infor's software had 58 million users,[11] and 90,000 corporate customers in 200 countries. Those customers includeBausch & Lomb,Heineken,Flextronics,[12]Wyndham Hotels,Benetton Group,Boskalis,EBSCO,Legacy Health andBest Western International.[5]

History

Infor wasspun out fromMalvern,Pennsylvania based Systems & Computer Technology Corp in June 2002, as Agilisys, when there were 1,300 customers of its process manufacturingERP software.[2][13] It grew throughacquisitions[12] backed byGolden Gate Capital andSummit Partners.[14]

With the addition of German company Infor Business Solutions AG in 2004, Agilisys changed name to Infor Global Solutions. It relocated headquarters fromAlpharetta,Georgia toNew York in 2012.[15][16]

Micro-verticals and cloud

From 2010,[17] Infor marketed "micro-verticals," which were versions of its software adapted for specific industries.[18] It claimed these products wereeasier to implement than those of its competitors.[17]

Infor introduced anAmazon Web Services based product called CloudSuite in 2014.[19]

Koch Industries

In February 2017,Koch Equity Development LLC invested $2.68 billion in Infor, for a two-thirds ownership.[20]

Subsequently, in February 2020, Koch bought outGolden Gate Capital's remaining minority shareholding.[1][21] The transaction valued Infor's assets at $11 billion.[22] By then Infor was the world's third-largestenterprise software vendor afterOracle Corporation andSAP, with 6% of the market.[1]

Philanthropy

In 2013, the company was recognized as aComputerworld honors laureate for its work withHabitat for Humanity, partnering with the organization to provide software at free or reduced prices.[75] Through Habitat for Humanity, Infor employees also participate in a Volunteer Build Program, Employee Giving Campaign, and Annual Global Village Build.[75]

The company sponsors theLeukemia & Lymphoma Society's “Light the Night Walks” events,[76] held in years such as 2012.[77]

Infor has supported theUnited Negro College Fund'sA Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Waste event.[76]
